Travel cancellation/interruption Insurance

We highly reccommend that you look into travel insurance especially for the longer trips. As our policy states, you may lose your deposit if you cancel shortly before a trip. Travel Underwriters offer packages which may be of interest to you.

Presently we are forwarding people to The Alpine Club of Canada where they are dealing with this insurance package for both members and non members of the Alpine Club of Canada.

Please contact Chris Fenlon-MacDonald for further information.

Transportation

Unfortunately I do not supply transportation. When possible I will try teaming you up with someone else who is taking the course. Please ask when you are booking your trip.

Accommodation

The Snow and Ice course takes place at the Columbia Icefields area. Other courses take place near the Jasper townsite. Camping is available at the Columbia Icefields campground or at Wilcox campground. Early season Jonas is a good spot as well, a bit more driving but lower elevation. For courses closer to Jasper, campgrounds are easily found near town, or check the links below. Jasper Hostels are good as well, the Beauty Creek Hostel is the closest to the Icefields.

Find details at: www.discoverjasper.com As well you can stay in a private home in jasper, check the Jasper Home Accommodation Association website at www.stayinjasper.com

All course participants must read and sign a waiver. It is very important that you download, read, understand and be ready to sign a waiver. You will be asked to sign one at the start of the course.
