Peter Amann - mountain guide

I am a fully certified mountain guide with 35 years of climbing and guiding experience throughout the mountains of Western Canada. My extensive knowledge and experience will make your trip one to remember !

All of the guides that work with me are certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). We specialize in the Jasper area where there is decades of local knowledge amongst us !

Background Peter has worked as a Mountain Guide in many ranges throughout western Canada. He routinely works in many of the camps for the Alpine Club of Canada, including 24 years in the General Mountaineering camps. He also works with training the Canadian Military's Search and Rescue Technicians, worked as the Avalanche Forecaster at Marmot Basin for 18 years, and Lead Guide for Robson Helimagic for 6 seasons.

Peter also works as an instructor and examiner on the ACMG Hiking guide program and works on the Mountain and Hiking Program for Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.

Peter has taught both Rock and Mountaineering courses for 30 years and has guided many private ski touring and climbing parties.

Peter presently works in the winter months as Avalanche Technician/Forecaster for North West Avalanche Solutions Ltd,

In the winters Peter can be found either skiing, teaching, driving, analysing snowpacks or doing avalanche control work in the western mountains of Alberta and BC.

Peter's licensing allows guiding in most provincial and national parks in Alberta and British Columbia.

Peter is a fully certified Mountain Guide and member of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). He is also a member of the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA), and a professional member of the Canadian Avalanche Association.
