Flower Essences

Looking for more ....
DodgerIn my search to find additional methods to help animals (both my own and others) I came across information on Flower Essences. I was attracted to them as they are comprised directly from Mother Nature. Blossoms taken from organically grown plants are placed in pure spring water in a crystal bowl and placed in direct sunlight for several hours; the blossoms are then removed, brandy is added as a preservative and the essence is then stored in dark bottles.

There are many different lines of Flower Essences available through most health food and pet supply stores. I was drawn to the ones created by Lila Devi named ‘Masters Flower Essences’. She has designed a line of 20 different essences to address a wide variety of  imbalances created by stress and outside influences in our lives.

As loving pet owners we are still guilty of being part of the domestication of animals. We have taken our pets out of their natural environments, we’ve changed their diets to reflect either convenience for ourselves or what we feel they should be eating, we’ve changed their day to day activities, limiting or Turt the Turtleeliminating what they previously did for survival changing their physical activity and psychological thinking. Added to that we’ve taken advantage of the fact that most of them, despite what is listed above, have decided to love us unconditionally and we are dumping our own personal human mental and emotional garbage on them.

Flower Essences, derived from nature herself, give pet owners the opportunity to recognize and restore many of the imbalances we have caused or created for our animals. Because they are pure and respond to the animal’s individual vibrational needs they can address a wide array of problems and situations. Even those caused by their loving human companions!

My kitty (Keiko) with her kittyHowever, before any problem is addressed using Flower Essences or many other non traditional or holistic means it is of the utmost importance that all and any medical causes are first ruled out or addressed. As responsible pet owners it is our first directive to insure there is not some underlying medical cause behind a change in an animal’s personality or behavior.  Flower Essences cannot be used to cure any form of physical ailment. They can however, because of their non pharmaceutical properties, be used in conjunction with medications to address the mental and emotional issues an animal may experience during diagnosis, treatment, or in the worse case scenario, the dying process.

How they work ...
Once medical causes have been ruled out, a Flower Essence practitioner will determine an animal’s Theme Essence which is the underlying foundation of their personality.  Then they will ascertain the Plot Essence(s) for use with problems and aid to correction. Often it takes more than one essence to address the animal’s imbalances and it may take a series of two or three administered over a period of time to help bring the animal back to their naturally balanced theme state.

FluffetteFlower Essences can assist in situations where an animal is recovering from an illness or surgery to help with the mental and emotional aspect of being ill or during recovery; they are useful when introducing new animals (or children, babies, etc) into the household; for rescued/abused animals; to address fears of the unknown; in times of stress like moving or relocating; or when their owners are going through divorce or work related stress. These wonderful essences help give our animals the assistance they need to deal with the emotions and stresses reflected in our human world which also impact them.

I have now completed Lila’s Masters Flower Essences Practitioner course for pets and I am qualified to discuss and provide a Flower Essence program. I would be pleased to review your situation with your pet to determine if they would benefit from this type of program.
