Windows XP - Dial-Up Networking Connection Setup
- Click the Start button; select All Programs, Accessories, Communications, and then
New Connection Wizard.
- The "Welcome to the Network Connection Wizard" will appear. Click the Next button.

- The "Network Connection Type" window will appear. Select Connect to Internet from
the available connection types and click the Next button.

- The "Getting Ready" wizard will appear. Select Set up my connection manually. Click
the Next button.

- The "Internet Connection" window will appear next. Select Connect using a dial-up modem
and click the Next button.

- The "Connection Name" window will appear. In the ISP Name box input "Incentre" using your
keyboard and click the Next button.

- The "Phone Number to Dial" window will appear. In the phone number box type in the local
dial-up access number (ie. 421-4222). Click the Next button.

- The "Internet Account Information" window will appear. Enter your Username and Password,
and Confirm Password. (NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive). Click the Next button.

- The "Completing the New Connection Wizard" will appear. A check mark should be in the
box Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop. Click the Finish button.

How to Connect to the Internet
Double click on the Incentre icon on your desktop. The "Connect Incentre" window will appear with
your User name, Password and the Dial-Up Phone Number. Click the Dial button.

The "Connecting to Incentre" window will appear. You will see the window display the Incentre
access number you are dialing into.

This window will be followed by the "Verifying username and password" window.

Once you are connected you should see an icon on your taskbar by the clock. It will appear
as two computer monitors. You are now ready to browse the web or use your email program.
How to Disconnect from the Internet
Double click on the Incentre icon on your desktop. You can also double click on the computer
monitors on your Taskbar by your clock. The Incentre Status window should appear. Click the
Disconnect button to disconnect from the Internet.
Advanced Troubleshooting - Optional - Using DNS Configurations
If you are experiencing Internet connection problems, you have the option of enabling DNS to see if it
improves. Simply follow the instructions,
- Double-click on the "Incentre" icon (shortcut to Incentre connection), click on Properties, and under the
"Network" tab.
- Click on TCP/IP Settings and a window appears. Select the option "Specify name server addresses" and enter the
preferred DNS [198.161.96.1] and the alternate DNS [204.209.46.1].
- Click OK and OK.
