- Open your email program, and configure the incoming mail server,
outgoing mail server, account name (or username), password, and email address as per
instructions. Click OK
to save all the changes.
- Shut down your email program.
- Open the program Norton Antivirus.
- Select "Options", and click on "Email Protection". Check the option "Enable Email
Protection", and check the email clients to which you want Norton to monitor, under
"Protected email clients". Click OK and Close Norton Antivirus.
- The next time you open your email program, Norton will have automatically
configured the incoming mail server, and the account name settings in your email
program.
- To test, simply create a new email message, and send it to yourself. Wait a few
seconds, and check your mail. If this doesn't work, then start all over again from step #1.
