Creating New Email Account
Note: If this is the first time using Microsoft Outlook 2000,
then start at #3, otherwise start at #1.
- In Microsoft Outlook 2000, go to TOOLS, ACCOUNTS.
- Under the MAIL tab, click ADD, and choose MAIL.
- The "Internet Connection Wizard" window will appear.
- Enter "Display Name" (ie. Tony Tiger) and click NEXT.
- Enter "E-mail Address" (ie. ttiger@incentre.net) and click NEXT.
- For the following fields, enter the following:
- My incoming mail server is a: POP3
- Incoming Mail Server: pop.incentre.net
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.incentre.net
- Click NEXT.
- Enter the following:
- Account Name: (ie. ttiger)
- Password: (ie. Pass1234)
- Optional: select "Remember password"
- Click NEXT.
- Select the method of connection:
- For Dial-up, choose "I will establish my Internet connection manually".
- For Local Area Network, choose "LAN".
- Click FINISH.
Editing An Existing Email Account
- In Microsoft Outlook 2000, go to TOOLS, ACCOUNTS.
- Under the MAIL tab, double-click the mail account you wish to edit
(or highlight the mail account and click PROPERTIES).
- Under the GENERAL tab, enter the following,
- Mail Account name: (ie. Tony Tiger's Email)
- Name: - to which you want others to identify you as (ie. Tony Tiger)
- Optional: Organization - such as a company name (ie. Tony Tiger Corporation)
- Email address: (ie. ttiger@incentre.net)
- Reply address - only if different from above email address.
- Under the SERVERS tab, enter the following:
- My incoming mail server is a POP3 server.
- Incoming mail server: pop.incentre.net
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.incentre.net
- Account name: (ie. ttiger)
- Password: (ie. Pass1234)
- Optional: select "Remember password"
- Click APPLY, OK, and CLOSE.
