| June 20, 2001 - Telephone Outage at The Internet Centre and Corporate Computers |
| On Wednesday, June 20th, the
telephone systems for The Internet Centre and Corporate Computers was temporarily
out of service due to an administrative error by our telephone provider Telus. Efforts to fix the problem took 8 hours to complete. As a result, customers who were attempting to make phone contact would instead receive an operator message such as "the number you have called is not in service". During the significant disruption in phone service, most urgent matters were dealt with using the Internet and e-mail, and through an alternate telephone provider. We apologize for the inconvenience this sudden telephone outage has caused. |
