The Internet Centre can provide DSL services to customers who do not have a
telephone line but are in a DSL serving area. This service is sometimes called
"Naked DSL" (telecom geeks trying to spice up their lives?) but the real intent
is to provide High Speed DSL services to locations that may want to use only
cell phones or only VOIP (Voice Over IP) services. DSL still needs to be delivered
over a pair of copper telephone wires, and there are costs associated with doing so.
These costs vary from town to town, and are added to the DSL service packages above.
So customers looking to have DSL but do not need or want dial tone, land line
telephone service can now order such a service from The Internet Centre Inc.
A telephone jack and DSL modem at the premises must still be installed and used
to deliver this service, and delivery time is still usually 7 days from date of order.
Please view the cost of acquiring a non-dial tone 'naked DSL' by checking out
your community in this Alberta Rate Band List or
BC Rate Band List.
One time installation charge applies. Residential is $50 and commercial is $80.
A contact name and a contact phone number must be part of the order.
