• A registered charitable Foundation incorporated December 1994 that accepts donations to establish permanent endowment funds for the Drayton Valley community. It is creating a community savings account.

WHY DO WE NEED IT?

• it will benefit our community in the future
• government funding and grants for community organizations have been substantially reduced
• it will serve as a vehicle to fund and support community organizations and projects

HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT OUR COMMUNITY?

• it encourages local self reliance
• the funds stay in the community to meet local needs
• the grants will support community projects in a variety of areas
• it ensures future quality of life

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE MONEY?

• Long term endowment funds will be created and the interest derived will support a wide range of charitable projects and causes in our community in the following areas:
  • Social Services & Health
  • Recreation
  • Arts and Culture
  • Education
  • Environment

WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT THE FOUNDATION?

• you could leave a personal or family legacy
• you would see your gift enrich the quality of life in your community
• you have a flexible means to contribute
• you can direct your gift as you wish
  - for general good
  - to a special area of interest or agency
• your contribution stays in the fund and continues to work for our community
• you get a charitable tax receipt

HOW MUCH OF MY MONEY IS SPENT ON ADMINISTRATION?

• None unless you direct it
• A special endowment fund is set up to take care of administrative and operating expenses.

HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE?

• by cash gift or pledges
• a bequest in your will
• a gift of life insurance
• a gift in memory of a friend or relative
• a gift in family
• a gift of property

WHO WILL LOOK AFTER MY MONEY?

• A Board of Directors representative of the community interest, appointed by the Nominating Committee.
